Cindy......MSP will cover for SRS in the States. My partner was basically given that option as the Montreal site does not offer Psychiatric Nursing Services.

Contact Carol Foster at Ministry of Health (250) 952-3109.

She should be able to answer this question for you.

Hi Rad, have you tried BC medical health service plan? I am not certain if Alberta Health service still covers SRS. The only other province that I am aware of who does cover SRS is Ontario.

I am FtM looking for info on phalloplasty or metoidiplasty. Does anybody know if there is any province in Canada that funds this surgery?

Has Alberta reinstated funding for this?

Thanks.

Montreal is the only place in all of Canada that does the surgery for both M-F and F-M where the province of BC covers the cost for the surgery. There are other SRS clinics in the US and in Thailand, but BC health insurance plan doesn't cover it.

There might be the occasional time where they could send you to a clinic in the US when the surgery in Montreal is not available for what ever the reason.

Hi Rad,

Not sure which surgery you are referring too. Are you MTF or FTM, if you are looking for information on lower surgery MTF I could be of some help, if FTM I am afraid someone else will have to help you on that.

British Columbia funds lower surgery, all surgeries are performed in Montreal with the exception of some rare cases.

Hey,

If anybody out there has any good info on lower surgery for guys, that would be much appreciated.
And.... does anybody know of a province in Canada where that surgery is funded?

Thanks,

Rad
